Bookkeeping for construction, by project, not just by month.
A dedicated bookkeeper who allocates every invoice and timesheet to the right project, handles reverse-charge VAT and subcontractor rules, and keeps progress billing on time.
Thirty live projects, subcontractors invoicing late, and a VAT regime that reverses depending on who you are.
Construction companies, installers and trades in the Netherlands and Belgium carry a specific administrative load: reverse-charge VAT between contractors and subcontractors, chain-liability rules and blocked accounts (G-rekening) in the Netherlands, the co-contractor regime in Belgium, retentions, progress invoices and the need to know whether each project is actually making money.
Haven Teams bookkeepers are trained for this. They work in your accounting and project software, code every cost to a project and phase, process subcontractor invoices with the right VAT treatment and documentation, prepare progress and final invoices and give the owner a project margin overview every month.
Project margin unknown
Costs land in the general ledger, not on the project, so overruns are found at completion.
Subcontractor administration
Reverse-charge VAT, chain liability and blocked-account payments must be documented for every invoice.
Billing falls behind
Progress invoices go out late because nobody has time to assemble them.

Questions we get asked
Do your bookkeepers understand reverse-charge VAT in construction?
Yes. They are trained in the Dutch btw-verleggingsregeling and the Belgian btw medecontractant rules, including when they apply and what must appear on the invoice. Your accountant reviews the VAT return before filing.
Can you handle the G-rekening and chain liability?
Yes. We record the blocked-account portion of each subcontractor payment, keep the documentation needed for chain liability and reconcile the G-rekening monthly.
Can you work in our project-management software as well as accounting?
Yes. Project costing needs both, and your bookkeeper works in whichever systems hold the data, following your mapping of projects and phases.
How do progress invoices get prepared?
You or your project leads approve the percentage or milestone; your bookkeeper assembles the invoice with retentions and previous instalments and sends it through your system on the agreed day.
